We understand that you are entrusting us with one of your personal devices that may contain years' worth of your life, and with your name and number so that we can reach out to you regarding your device. Below is an explanation of what information we collect from you, why we collect it, how long we retain it, and what you can request us to do with regard to it.

Your contact details (name, email address, phone number(s), return postal address if we are posting a device back): you provide this information through the online diagnostic tool, the contact form, by email or by phone.
The contents of your device: recovery means reading everything stored on the media, because we cannot determine in advance which areas of the storage media contain your files. We don't search/browse/index/use your files for anything except returning them to you.

If your device contains your medical information or other special types of information we will rely on one of two bases: either the establishment or defence of legal claims, or your explicit consent.
The recovery is done in-house. Your device will never be forwarded to an external laboratory nor will any of the data contained within your device be shared with third parties. All aspects of your device and its contents remain in the United Kingdom at all times.
There are four providers that will receive very limited data from us: our website host; couriers for tracked returns (only name & address); payment processor & accountant; Google Analytics if you accept it. None of this data will ever be sold, and none of it will be used for marketing purposes. This data will only be disclosed when legally required.
Google may also process analytics data outside of the U.K. under the UK Addendum to the Standard Contractual Clauses. No other data will leave the U.K.

You can request a copy of data that we process about you, request changes be made to this data, have this data deleted from our records, request we pause using your data for our purposes, request that your personal data be provided to you in a portable format, object to processing by us based on our legitimate business interest(s), or withdraw your consent at any time.

If we have made an error in processing your data then please let us know first so that we can correct it. You also have the right to complain directly to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
The options are blank until you select them. A banner prompts you just once and retains your selection using a single entry on your own device.
If you are willing to allow it, Google Analytics will provide us with information as to what pages users view on our site, as well as how they arrived there. If you choose not to enable it, the script is never requested: it is never "loaded" and instructed to ignore you. It will in no way be used to identify you.

No automated decisions regarding you are made; engineers personally examine your device before writing quotations. While you don't have to give us your contact information, we can neither quote nor recover/return anything without such information. If the terms of this notice are changed, the date at the head of the document is also changed.
