On the ICO Register, we are also GDPR compliant. Your hard drive is always handled by our own engineers. Everything we do remains completely confidential. Once we have returned your recovered data to you we wipe our copy forever.
We're governed by two major laws that tell us how to handle all your personal data (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), and we are registered for both with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Your recovered files will be stored securely and can only be used for processing in accordance with the law. Once your recovery is completed, we will have no need to store any of your personal data.
All recoveries are carried out within our own U.K. Laboratory. Many operators in this trade will "farm" drives off to wholesalers, labs overseas etc., but we do not. From the time your device arrives at our premises until it returns to you, it has never left the building.

Should you require a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), we are happy to provide this for free, and as such; neither your files nor the mere fact that you used our services would be disclosed. Any recovered material would remain your property exclusively (or to whomsoever you appoint) and not be released to anyone else.
Where your data could potentially end up in a courtroom as well as with an insurance company or before an HR panel, our documentation process will allow us to create a 'chain of custody' for all of the steps taken to handle your device which will stand up to scrutiny. All of our forensic services are capable of being performed at a level which would make them acceptable in a court proceeding if necessary.
While your data remains in our possession during an active project, it will remain securely stored and available only to those members of our engineering staff who are actively engaged in recovering your data. Once we complete your project and deliver your data back to you, either by shipping it to you on new encrypted media, or via secure download, we permanently delete our working copy. We retain nothing after completion of a project.

As opposed to companies who perform the actual recovery of the drives through an unannounced contract with a sub-contractor; we never give a drive to another company or ship it outside the United Kingdom.

Your recovered files will either be received via secure download or on new, encrypted media, and your original device will be returned to you. At this point, we will securely erase our working copy and retain nothing.
We are able to provide a full chain of custody for all our legal, HR, insurance and forensic recoveries, and where required we can carry out our forensic recoveries on a court-admissible standard.
To the degree required by the nature of the work. When we verify a restore, we open a few samples of documents to confirm they were saved properly. And when we rebuild a file system, we have the ability to see what document name and where it was stored in the file system. Beyond those capabilities, we do not access your data.
