From the first quote to the moment your files are back, there are no surprises along the way: a fixed price in writing before anyone starts work, and no fix, no fee on the majority of jobs. What follows is the whole journey, step by step.
The cost is agreed up front every time, and for most recoveries there's nothing to pay unless your data actually comes back.
A walk through everything that takes place between asking for a quote and getting your files handed back.
Begin at the online quote tool: pick your device, describe the fault, and it gives you a likely cost on the spot — nothing to wait for and nothing you're committing to. It's the quickest way to get a feel for the numbers before the device ever leaves you.
Get the device to us one of two ways: drop it off in person at our Belfast office, or post it to us fully insured. We don't run a collection service. Pack it so it can't move in transit — and for a RAID or NAS, take the disks out yourself and label each one with its bay order. There's no need to send the enclosure or controller.
Back on the bench in Belfast, our engineers open the drive up and work out precisely what's failed and how much can come back. That turns into a fixed written quote — one set price for the job — normally inside 48 hours. Nothing you'd be charged for happens until you've said yes, and for most jobs it remains no fix, no fee.
With your approval, the recovery itself starts: we image the drive, put right whatever's physically wrong, and rebuild file systems or arrays as the job demands. Every bit of that is done on our own bench — your drive, and everything on it, stays with us throughout.
However you'd prefer to receive them, that's how your files come back — written to fresh media and posted out, or waiting for you on our secure download so you can grab them straight away. Where a job was no fix, no fee, payment only falls due once the data is safely returned.
No matter the device or the fault behind it, the following never change.
There's a written quote in your hands before any billable work starts, the figure doesn't wander upward, and the final invoice holds no nasty shocks.
Every diagnostic and recovery is done by our own engineers.
From arrival to return your files stay confidential, seen only by the engineers doing the work.
For the majority of jobs, no recovered data means no recovery fee to pay. A small number of specialist cases do call for a deposit, and we'll square that with you beforehand every time.
Use the online estimator for a quick figure, or call and talk it through — whichever you pick, the price is clear before a thing is done.
